Marvel shut down Punisher fan film

The Punisher fan film “The Dead Can’t Be Distracted” has had a lot of buzz since it was announced several months ago. But now has had to stop filming after a cease and desist letter from Marvel saying:-

"While we appreciate your affection for the character, we must demand that you immediately stop your unauthorized use, advertising, sale and/or distribution of any production of The Punisher or any other Marvel character-based films therefore, and any other use of the images, likenesses, artwork or other intellectual property owned by Marvel."

It looks like the film will now never make it to our screens but more importantly does this suggest that Marvel have a Punisher film or TV series in the works or is it now that Disney own the rights to Marvel are they just clamping down and taking a zero tolerance approach to fan films and copyright material.

We know that recently, Marvel bought back the rights to Punisher and other Marvel characters so this is possible but with the bad reviews and ratings for the last Punisher films would they go there again.
He is a very popular character in the comic world and if done correctly it would be good to see Frank Castle and his story as it should of been told.

What are your thoughts on this, would you like to see another attempt at a Punisher film or TV series and do you think it should be R-rated.
