Arguably the most anticipated show of the year, the Marvel T.V series opened with 11.9 million viewers when it debuted in the U.S and 3.1 million in the U.K despite both countries giving it a 8 pm time slot.
For co-creator Joss Wheadon this will mark his first full broadcast season since WB's final airing of 'Angel' which concluded in 2004.
