Michael Douglas to star as Hank Pym

BREAKING NEWS - Michael Douglas to star as Hank Pym in Marvel's Ant-Man.

The two-time Academy Award-winning actor is set to join Paul Rudd in Edgar Wright's future Marvel blockbuster Ant-man, which will be released July 31,2015.

As we all know Hank Pym is the creator of the Pym particles which gives Ant-Man his size altering abilities but when Pym gives up the role to pursue other interests Scott Lang (Played by Paul Rudd) takes on the role. Judging by the casting of Douglas, it looks like this is route Wright is going to take.

Both Douglas and Wright are yet to release any statements on the matter but I'm sure it take long. Please leave comments below letting us know what your thoughts are.

Another villain for Age of Ultron?

Joss Whedon obviously thinks Ultron isn't enough for the Avengers as it looks like there could be a second villain in Age of Ultron.

It's not been confirmed officially by  Marvel yet but there is is a breakdown circulating in Hollywood where Marvel is looking for a Physically imposing man, aged between 40-50, Caucasian, for a support role and rumour is it's for Baron von Strucker!

Fans of the comics will know that Baron Wolfgang von Strucker is old-school, best known as one of Captain America's enemies and one of the main figures of Hydra.

First speculations indicate that the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will work for von Strucker. Originally they worked for Magneto (their dad) as members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in the X-Men but since Disney cannot use those stories due to ownership rights, so switching them over to another villainous master makes sense.

As for who will play the pretty much ageless super villain, reports say that Marvel have shown interest in Marton Csokas and Dougray Scott. It's still early days but my money is on Dougray, he's been longing for a role in the Marvel cinematic universe and his acting skills are perfect for a villain of this stature. Please leave your thoughts and comments below.

War Machine to join the fight against Ultron

We all knew with a new Avengers film would come more super heroes and after the announcement of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver it comes as no surprise that War Machine is to join the action.

USA Today have confirmed that Golden Globe nominee Don Cheadle will reprise his role as War Machine in the upcoming Marvel film 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'. It still remains unknown how Rhodey and indeed War Machine will fit into the Avengers but director Joss Whedon did mention he was adding more superheroes to the list.

This news also hints to the rumors that Tony Stark will be Ultrons creator and that Jarvis is likely to turn rogue and inevitably transform into the main villain of the Avengers sequel. In Iron Man 3 we saw Jarvis thinking for itself and making decisions. Add that to the scene where we see the Mark 42 suit attack Pepper in her sleep as a result of Tony's nightmare and you have pretty good foundations for birth of Ultron.

Where will Rhodey/War Machine fit in though? Will Rhodey be a part of the team that helps Tony create the A.I or will War Machine be a part of the fight? This is unclear at the point but I for one will be glad to see Rhodey return as he is a vital part of the Iron Man franchise. What are your thoughts on this?

Amazing Spider-Man 2 International trailer

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 International trailer has not long been released and it has a whole load of new footage. This trailer is a lot less serious than the first one showing Peter Parker having fun as Spider-man as well as enjoying his relationship with Gwen Stacy.

Check the the new trailer below and leave your thoughts.

The ASM2 Spoilers and Speculations

WARNING THIS ARTICLE MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!

With the very fresh release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer we are going to have a look at what was seen in the footage and with that speculate what we might be witnessing when the movie is released in May.

Lets start off by looking at the villains...

Its obvious from the trailer Oscorp are playing a major role in the development of all of these villains and villains to come. In the trailer we see the man in the hat from the end credits of the first film walking past containers which seem to be storing mechanical wings (Vulture) and robotic arms (Doc Ock). There has been official images posted on the net of Spencer Smythe's Robotics Laboratory, could he be involved with the creation of these and also the Rhino suit.
Coming back to the man in the hat, could he be 'The Gentleman'? The Gentleman was a Spider-Man villain originating in the novel 'Spider-Man: The Gathering of the Sinister Six'. In the story, the incredibly wealthy manipulator –involved in the mysterious death of Peter Parker’s parents – formed the Sinister Six.

Also in the trailer we see computer files listing Venom Symbiote, Dr Morbius, Dr Connors, Ravencroft and Eel lab and more. Ravencroft is where some of Spider-Mans deadliest and craziest enemies are locked away and we know that Ravencroft will be a setting in the film. We also see the file 'Venom symbiote', Marc Webb tweeted a picture of the Venom locker some months ago could this just be an Easter egg for the fans as a hint for future Venom appearance.

Another big thing to touch upon is Harry Osborn possibly being the first Green Goblin. In every other film and comic Harry has been the second Goblin to avenge the death of his dad Norman the first Green Goblin. This is sure to cause major controversy with some of the more hardcore Marvel and Spidey fans. Again the suit he is wearing seems to be very mechanized could this be Smythe at work again? We also see him going through what seems a very painful transformation, could this be the genetic alteration?

Another major scene in the trailer is the Goblin/Spidey fight scene which seems to be set in a clock tower. From the footage we know that Gwen is also there. In the scene we can see Spider-Man shooting a web down which looks as if hes trying to catch something or someone from falling. Now what caught our eye was Gwen Stacy's clothing. Here's a few images, as you can see she is clearly wearing a very similar outfit that Gwen was wearing when she died in the Amazing Spider-Man comics by falling to her death by the hands of the Green Goblin.

Frank Grillo talks about Crossbones future

Frank Grillo will be playing Crossbones, in the upcoming Marvel sequel "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". But it it may not be his only appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When speaking with Crave Online they asked whether the studio has plans for Brock Rumlow (crossbones) after "The Winter Soldier". He said “We’ll see what happens. We’ll see if the fans respond to Brock and how it goes.”

Frank has confirmed that  Crossbones will NOT appear in "Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.", as he’s not interested in appearing on the ABC series.

“I’ve got my own thing to do on television so you can’t really do two at once,” he said, referring to his newly announced series "Navy St.", described as Friday Night Lights for mixed martial arts. “Not that I don’t want to do it, but it doesn’t get me going anymore to do something like that.”

Venom to get his own film

Sony’s Michael Lynton has recently said in an investers meeting that they are planning to make Spider-Man spin-offs in some fashion.

“We do very much have the ambition about creating a bigger universe around Spider-Man,” said Lynton in remarks published by Deadline. There are a number of scripts in the works.” Of course, expanded Spider-Man films are hardly new: The Amazing Spider-Man is on course for a third outing and Venom has been touted as a likely solo project for some time now. But this is the first time a senior executive has come out and explicitly talked about bubbling plans.

With Sony owning Spider-Man and Disney owning Marvel there's no chance of seeing Spidey joining the Avengers or any kind of team ups any time soon. If only Sony, Disney and Fox could come together and give the fans what they want, a Marvel cinematic universe without restrictions or limits.

Ben Kingsley's back for more

Ben Kingsley reveals he is involved with a 'secret Marvel project'

Ben Kingsley played the villain Mandarin in Marvel's Iron Man 3, However has declined to reveal if he would be reprising the role for his new Marvel assignment.

He has quoted.
"It's a secret Marvel project. I'm not allowed to say any more, you're going to have to wait and see," Kingsley told the Belfast Telegraph, before adding: "I was with many members of the crew that were involved in Iron Man 3. It was lovely to see them again. It was great to be with this wonderful family. I think they have enormous taste as creative artists. There's nothing lazy or gratuitous about their work. They are at the top of their game, and they're great company to keep," he added.

In his interview he mentioned he was reunited with many of the Iron man 3 cast could this mean another Iron man movie or the way things are going a spin off TV show?
Would you like to see the return of the Mandarin or could you see him playing a new character?

Levitt speaks out about Ant-Man

In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, Gordon-Levitt said, “There is always a lot of rumors
around
these projects and so far it is still only discussions. I am always very transparent when it comes to my role and my career. I’m usually the first to speak and communicate with my fans if something happens . If you hear nothing from me, they are just rumors .”

So he pretty much shoots down the rumors saying if he has accepted the role he would tell the fans, but does mention there has been discussions and talks.

Could he be up for another role Doctor Strange maybe or is it just simply that they are still in early stages of talks.

Who will play Ant-Man?

The comic adaptation's been in development for years with director Edgar Wright. Now Variety is
reporting that two men are in the running to play Hank Pym/Ant-Man. The first is Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the other is  Paul Rudd.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been strongly tied with being Doctor Strange, the question is which character would he play best?

Both actors are very different and have played very different roles in rencent films. There's also a 12-year age difference between them. Does this Mean Marvel havnt decided how old Hank will be or even decided what kind of back story he will have.

Insiders claim a third actor could be in for the running but as of now Gordon-Levitt and Rudd are the frontrunners. We all know that Simon Pegg was hinting and playing with the Marvel fans about playing Ant-Man, could he be the third candidate. Edgar Wright isn't interested in casting a Muscle man as the hero. Instead, he wants a normal looking guy.

Ant-Man A.K.A. Hank Pym, who's actually a brilliant scientist. Like Bruce Banner/Hulk and Tony Stark/Iron Man, his brain is his greatest weapon. Pym creates a substance that allows his body to shrink or grow larger. He can go from the size of an ant to that of a skyscraper.

Ant-Man is scheduled to hit theaters July 31, 2015.

Asgard too far for Dallas

I'm not one for character changes in film's but sometimes it can work, I mean look at Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. But what will the next Marvel character change hold, Josh Dallas a.k.a Fandral in Thor has shared his disappointment at missing out on the role in the sequel. The actor says he was set to reprise his role but was unable to return because of his schedule on ABC series 'Once Upon a Time' and has been replaced by Zachary Levi.

"Of course there was disappointment there," Dallas admits. "It was a movie I loved doing, and I was super-excited about going into the sequel. It was always the plan, to do the second one. But unfortunately flying from the 'Once Upon a Time' set in Vancouver to London where the second one was shot would have just made my head explode. So unfortunately I had to bow out of that role, but Zachary Levi is going to be brilliant and I can't wait to see the second one. I will be the first in line to see it."

So what do we think? Can Zachary Levi do as good a job as Josh Dallas? Did Dallas do a good job in the first place? What ever you think, we'd love to hear it. Please comment below.

Coulson Lives, but how?

With the first two episodes of Agents of Shield aired, speculation still surrounds Coulsons ressurection. Many theories surround this surprise turn of events and a lot of them are so far fetched they're not even worth mentioning but here are a few that are:-

#4. He actually died and was brought back to life. This could be easily explained by the perfection of Extremis after the events of Iron Man 3. As we know, at the end of Iron Man 3 Tony has the Arc Reactor removed and in turn the shrapnel taken out after being injected with the perfected Extremis formula. What about the time gap? What if Coulson was frozen and then brought back when Extremis was finished. This would explain the reason he keeps mentioning Tahiti, as this would have been a memory implanted to explain the time gap.

The first flaw in this is if Extremis was used to heal the original injury would not still be apparent in the show. The other flaw is they mention that he must never find out what happened, if he died and was brought back what reason would they have to keep it from him.

#3. He's a super soldier like Captain America. One of the most memorable moments in the Avengers movie is that Coulson is Cap's "biggest fan" and that he had collected the Captain America cards that he had kept vintage and in mint condition. What if they were mint because he had collected them from when he was a young boy during WWII? Coulson certainly fits Dr. Erskine's description of the perfect soldier. Maybe Coulson recieved a later version of the serum.

Here's a fun fact: The kid in Captain America: The First Avenger who sports the painted garbage can Cap shield is named Phil. The serum explains the slower aging.

If he was a super soldier at the time he was stabbed he would of had the strong super human abilities and agility to dodge or take on Loki and again why would they being trying to keep a secret from him?

#2. The Scarlet Witch Ressurection. In the Avengers film Tony Stark makes a reference to Coulson dating someone. If Joss Whedon wanted to introduce a new character for the next Avengers film, what better way than to have Coulson's mystery lady to be the Scarlet Witch. She has magical powers so it would make sense that she would use those powers to  bring her lover back from the dead, plus Coulson references Tahiti as a "magical" place. Could Coulson have been reanimated by the Scarlet Witch? It would explain why the other agents seem to be hiding something from Coulson. Are they trying to keep him from freaking out over the fact that he died and his girlfriend has magical powers that brought him back from the dead?

If this is true then Whedon is giving us an early insight to the magical side of the Marvel universe and with that a lot of diverse explanations of how events can be changed. With it being the magical side it is hard to find any flaws, if you  can find any please leave your comments below.

And Finally,

#1. Coulson is The Vision. After Coulson "dies" Tony Stark is surprising very upset. What if after this he invents an A.I and implants Coulsons memories, there fore creating The Vision and this is who we see in Agents of Shield. This would explain Coulsons calm demenor and robotic approach to situations. If Coulson was to be the Vision this would strongly tie in with the Scarlet Witch and the next Avengers film, as we know that The Vision and Scarlet Witch have history.

So after all this speculation and hype we'd like your thoughts and views, please comment below.

For those already familiar with it then please join in with the comments and discussions and for those who are stumbling across these animations for the first time then your in for a treat.

First of all lets give you a little bit of basic information on Marvel Knights.

In 2010 it was announced that Shout! Factory and Marvel Comics teamed up to release a roster of animated series on DVD and that's what I want to look at today. Shout! Factory, LLC, founded in 2003, issues DVDs and Blu-ray Discs of previously released feature films, classic and contemporary TV series, animation, live music and comedy specials. Shout! Iron Man: Extremis (November 30, 2010)
Black Panther (January 18, 2011)
Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D. (June 14, 2011)

Astonishing X-Men: Collection (November 13, 2012)
InHumans (April 23, 2013)
Wolverine: Origin (July 9, 2013)

Now lets have a look at the animations.

The X-Men are back with the express purpose of astonishing the world! But when pressure builds for the mutants to take an antidote to cure them and a new adversary arrives on the scene, will it derail their plans before they even get started?

The X-Men are off to protect the Earth from its destruction at the hands of the Breakworld. And when it s all over, nothing will ever be the same! In this fourth and final arc of Astonishing X-Men the mutants prove they are more than astonishing; they are unstoppable!

Iron Man Extremis:
Extremis, a 21st century of the super-soldier serum that turns its subjects into living weapons, has fallen into terrorist hands. Now Iron Man must change to fight this threat in ways that will forever alter Tony Stark.

Spider Woman Agent of S.W.O.R.D:
When Spider Woman is approached by a mysterious agent of S.W.O.R.D., the last thing she wants is another invasion of Skrulls. But she soon finds that the urge within her to inflict vengeance upon them is too intense to deny.

Black Panther:
T Challa is the Black Panther, the super genius warrior king of the African nation of Wakanda, the most technologically advanced nation on Earth. When Klaw, a deadly assassin, and his mercenaries threaten to invade his civilisation Black Panther must use his superhuman skills to prevail.

Thor & Loki Blood Brothers:
Thor & Loki are brothers and forever enemies. But why does Loki hate his brother? Is this master of mischief really the villain he s been branded? Loki s lust for power and his feud with Thor take on a new meaning in this resonant epic.

Wolverine Origin:
Wolverine is the best there is at what he does; although of course, what he does isn't very nice. But long before he was a member of the X-Men, a tormented experiment of the Weapon-X project, or even a savage bar brawler known as Logan - he was simply a young boy. What incredible forces created this man, the world's greatest killing machine? For years, Wolverine has searched desperately for answers from his past, from the wilds of the Canadian Wilderness to the teeming cities of Japan and beyond. And despite his perseverance and longing for the truth, he remains an enigma to himself and those around him. But, in this landmark event, Marvel reveals all: the birth and childhood of young James Howlett... the intriguing secrets of his family history... and the tragedy that changed everything. Welcome to the greatest story never told.

Inhumans:
The Inhumans have always been one of Marvel’s most enduring oddities. A race of genetic freaks, they live secluded in their island kingdom of Attilan, preferring not to mix with the outside world. Even stranger, their genetic mutations are self-endowed; each Inhuman, as a coming-of-age ritual, endures exposure to the Terrigan Mists, a strange substance that imparts unearthly powers, some extraordinary, some monstrous. But now the kingdom of Attilan is under attack from without and within. Can the Royal Family, led by Black Bolt (who cannot speak for his voice carries the destructive power of an atom bomb) repel the foreign invaders who blast at their outer defense, as well as the internal threat of Black Bolt's brother, Maximus the Mad?

First thing to let you know is that each series is animated and styled very differently so if you do not like the style do not let that get in the way of trying the others. Spider-woman and the X-men series look like they have took the pages straight from the comics themselves and just added slight animation and sounds over the top, while Black Panther looks very sketched and the Thor and Loki series they have a more computer animated look and feel about them.

Most of the story lines in the animations are taken straight from the comics as you can see from the titles so you get to relive some of the greatest Marvel Comics and there storys on the small screen.

Please let us know which ones you have seen and how you rate them.
Currently they have released a box set with several of the series on so if you are new to all of these then this might be good for you.

Standalone Phase 3 films

There has been a lot of speculation about which Marvel characters will get their very own Standalone film.

It was reported a few months back that several Marvel movie properties had finally reverted back to Marvel Studios ,Daredevil, the Punisher, Ghost Rider and Blade, so could these have a reboot. Apart from Blade none of these done very well the first time but comic fans will know that these characters if did right could make a great movie.

We know that Marvel are looking for characters to fill spaces in phase 3  and will be looking at the more magical aspect of the Marvel Universe  also they have mentioned a main female role.

With the emphasis on magic, strong ties have been given to Dr Strange and the female role to Ms Marvel
Other strong characters in for the running are Black Panther, Luke Cage and the Inhumans.

Which one would you most like to see?

Ant-Man gets bumped forward

Disney have made the decision to move upcoming Edgar Wright film, Ant-Man, forward a few months, for what was originally scheduled for November 6, 2015 has now been pushed forward into the Summer window of July 31st.

So what are Marvels motives behind the move? well, DC are set to release the Man of Steel sequel two weeks later, perhaps they wanted to steal a little bit of their buzz. Perhaps they just wanted to piggy back off the Avengers sequel which will hit theatres a few months before.

Sound off your thoughts in the replies.

U.S Government creates Ultron

The very popular website IMDB have released this synopsis for the upcoming Avengers Age of Ultron film.

"As the US Government create a force, known as Ultron, The Avengers are told they are not needed any longer. But when Ultron turns against Humanity, it's time for The Avengers to assemble yet again for their most dangerous challenge ever"

We know at the latest Comic-Con there was a trailer of the Iron Man helmet slowly being crushed and bent into the shape of Ultron.

This wont be the first time Tony Stark created Ultron, He also did this in the animated movie Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow

We know at the end of Iron Man 3 that Tony destroys most of his suits, does this mean hes ready to stop being Iron Man and instead try's to create an Artificial intelligence for the government possibly using Jarvis.
And in Iron Man 3 you see Jarvis thinking and doing things without commands meaning that Jarvis is already A.I or is on his way to becoming one.

What are your thoughts on this?
