Marvel and video game publisher ends partnership

Marvel and its long time video game publisher, Activision, have severed a relationship that spans over 15 years. Multiple games have been pulled down from digital stores including PSN, Xbox Live and Steam rendering them unavailable for purchase, games affected include: Deadpool, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, X-Men Destiny and X-Men: The Official Game
Interestingly 2012's The Amazing Spider-man and Spider-man 3 are unaffected leading us to believe the movie tie-ins are on a separate licensing deal with Sony. The sequel to 2012s Spider-man game is believed to still be in the works from Activision owned studio, Beenox.

Physical copies of all the games will still be easily obtained if so desired, games can take several years to create so the end of this strong partnership may mean we have to wait a while for new Marvel games while Disney work on finding a new partner to create their console games.
